Life Guard Shed at the Corner
Elm and Central: The shed may be scheduled for demolition. The Fire
Commissioner are considering preserving the structure, but
rehabilitation may cost about $3000. They ask whether donors can be be
found to come up with the necessary funds to restore the structure.
Please direct comments to the Fire Commissioners.
4/30 The Fair Harbor Fire Volunteers responded to a fire under a house
in Saltaire. They arrived first, since ironically the Saltaire
Department was at training in Yaphank. It appears that this was another
electrical fire perhaps caused by frayed wires. We recommend checking
your wiring especially in windy areas.
