It is about time that the landlords of fair harbor put something back into the community. All the group houses, be it a singles or family house burden the community with their numbers. Many of the landlords are collecting more for a seasons rental then they paid for their house. It's about time that we reach out to this group of people and ask that they contribution a financial way. All of the real estate agents should have to do what ever it takes to make this group realize the condition we are currently experiencing. If half of the 380 homes in fair harbor are rentals, let's put the number at 190 houses. If the median rental for the season is $15,000.00. Multiply that by 190 and the total rental income is $2,850,000.00. One percent of that money ($28,500.00), would go along way to getting the bay beach back on track. I also believe that the non renting homeowners would make a contribution to a bay beach fund. If each of the 190 homeowners gave $100, we'd have an additional $19,000.00. that would give us $47,500.00 for the bay beach preservation. If I can be of any help in trying to pursue this avenue of fund raising please give me a call.

Sincerely,Mark Lane  1/2002
