Mosquito Dunks (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) Bti. Summit, Baltimore

Vectobac is a larvicide that can kill mosquitoes during the larvae stage of development. It contains a naturally occurring bacteria (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) that is common in soils in the United States and throughout the world. Vectobac has been used since the 1950's for insect control, particularly for mosquitoes, black flies, and fungus gnats.

Vectolex CG (active ingredient: Bacillus sphaericus (H-5a5b) Abbott Laboratories (800) 323-9597.
Vectolex is a larvicide that can kill mosquitoes during the larvae stage of its development. Its active ingredient contains a naturally occurring bacteria (Bacillus sphaericus) that is common in soils in the United States and throughout the world.

Permethrin is a pyrethroid-based pesticide registered for use in mosquito control by the Environmental Protection Agency and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. It is effective against adult mosquitoes, including the Culex species. Permethrin has a long history of being applied agriculturally to control against pests in the production of fruits, vegetables, and other crops. It has not been known to cause any chronic toxic effects to humans. Mild eye and skin irritation may occur with exposure to permethrin which can be treated by washing the eyes and skin thoroughly with water after contact.

Sumithrin / Anvil is a pyrethroid-based pesticide registered for use in mosquito control. It is effective against adult mosquitoes, including the Culex species. Anvil is registered for use against mosquitoes in swamps, marshes, outdoor residential and recreational areas. It has low toxicity to humans, mammals, and the environment. In three decades of its use, there have been no reports of toxic effects of Anvil to people, pregnant women, pets, or other mammals. Mild eye and skin irritation may occur with exposure to Anvil, which can be treated by washing the eyes and skin thoroughly with water after contact.

The active ingredient in Anvil is Sumithrin, a synthetic pesticide similar to a natural pesticide produced by chrysanthemum flowers. Sumithrin quickly breaks down in sunlight and water, and will not cause damage to the environment.

Scrouge Insecticide (mixture of Resmethrin and Piperenyl Butoxide) AgrEvo. Scourge is pyrethroid-based pesticide registered for use in mosquito control. It is effective against adult mosquitoes, including the Culex species. It may be used to control mosquitoes in recreational and residential areas, including athletic fields, parks, golf courses and outside of apartment buildings.

Altosid / Methoprene  ALTOSID is a trade name for the general use pesticide Methoprene. Methoprene is a larvicide used to control mosquitoes and has also been used for many years as a pesticide in the production of foods like meat, milk, eggs, mushrooms, peanuts, rice and cereals.
