Fair Harbor Water District

The Suffolk County Water Authority. This district is responsible for water in Fair Harbor. There are no deputy commissioner, the district is controlled by the Town of Islip. The district owns property on the south east corner of Central and Cranberry, this property has a building which contains the well head for our water supply. They also own the brick pump house in front of the old Fire House which houses the secondary pump.

The Bay Pumphouse contains a submersible pump delivering about 175 gal/p. min while the Cranberry Pumphouse delivers 475 gal/p. min (numbers as of spring 2002)

The management of the Fair Harbor Water District has been delegated to the Suffolk County Water Authority by the Town in 2000.
