Welcome to Fair Harbor
A Barefoot Community
The Fair Harbor Community Association (FHCA)
would like to welcome you to our community, and we hope that you have a
great summer. You have chosen a wonderful place to play, unwind, relax,
and enjoy yourselves. We would like to share some tips which we hope will
help keep our community a safe. dean. and healthy place.
PLEASE!!...make sure that your garbage is in plastic bags. and
then placed in closed garbage cans with a tight lid. We have a problem
with deer, raccoons, and dogs who find garbage tasty, and create an awful
mess. If you need more cans or Bungee cords to secure the garbage lids,
please notify your rental agent or home owner.
PLEASE!!...do not leave trash or belongings of any kind on the
beach (BAY or OCEAN). There is no one to clean up these areas, so we all
must be responsible for our own litter.
PLEASE!!...leash and clean up after your dogs. The Town of
Islip requires that dogs be leashed, and dog litter in a barefoot
community is messy, unsightly, and a health hazard.
PLEASE!!...mind your children. We have wonderful facilities for
kids, but it is important that they do not run wild without supervision .
PLEASE!!...observe our bicycle rules. Bike riding at unsafe
speeds is one of our biggest problems. Another is biking at night without
a light of some sort. Bicycles must be equipped with a bell and some kind
of light for night riding. NOTE: The area from the front of
the Fire House around through Pioneer is a NO BIKING ZONE!!
PLEASE!!...keep noise to a minimum. Loud music and voices carry
at night and in the early morning, so please be considerate of your
neighbors.
PLEASE!!...Join the FHCA. The fee is $35.00 and you can buy a
Fair Harbor Directory for $10.00. See Bulletin boards for details.
PLEASE!!...post this for all in your house to see.
PLEASE!!...have a great and safe summer.
