| Much noise is generated during the summer by neighbors partying,
playing music too loud. The Town of Islip has ordinances concerning such
conduct. The first line of defense in my opinion should always be talking
to that neighbor in a respectful manner asking to kindly lower the noise.
If that doesn't help a call to the police should help the matter, but it
should always be a last resort. If you throw a party and it may get noisy it has almost been custom to invite all surrounding neighbors, not only those on your walk, but also on adjacent walks. That way anybody that may complain is having a good time at your party.
