| In Fair Harbor, ninety of the ninety-seven homes were
destroyed. Fifty-three have been rebuilt. In Kismet, to the west, in
Saltaire, and in eastern the communities of Fair Harbor, and Cherry Grove,
250 of the 290 homes were either smashed or moved. Ocean View (ed. Beach),
Point O'Woods, and Seaview were protected by unusually high dunes, and
suffered relatively little damage. |
